How much do tv aerials cost?
A digital aerial fitted is £100 to £250 and a satellite dish £120 to £300. An extra television point on an existing feed is £60 to £120, and a repair call out starts around £60.

Before booking anything, check whether every television in the house has the problem or only one. It costs nothing, it takes two minutes, and it tells the installer whether to bring a ladder or a cable reel.
What moves the price
- Roof access and height. A two storey terrace with a chimney mount takes longer than a bungalow.
- Whether a new pole, bracket or lashing kit is needed or the existing mounting is sound.
- Signal strength at the postcode, which decides the aerial group and whether an amplifier is needed.
- Number of rooms fed and whether the cable already exists.
- Cable grade, because replacing thin old coaxial is usually the actual fix.
- Communal systems in flats, which are the freeholder's responsibility and a different job entirely.

Do I need a new aerial for the current broadcast standard?
Usually not. A wideband aerial in reasonable condition, pointing at the right transmitter with sound cable and connectors, is doing its job. Replacing the cable and connectors fixes more pictures than replacing the aerial does.
Is a loft aerial good enough?
In a strong signal area, often yes, and it lasts longer because the weather never touches it. Roof tiles and foil backed insulation both attenuate the signal, so it is a survey question rather than a general one.
