About A&J Power Services
A&J Power Services is a family electrician business based in Jarrow, serving South Tyneside and the wider North East. It carries out domestic, commercial and industrial electrical work, including EV charging point installations, full and partial rewires, fuseboard upgrades, lighting, electric boilers, electric cookers, electric showers, electric heating, immersion heaters, underfloor heating, garden lighting, hot tub wiring, emergency lighting and fault finding. An emergency electrician service is also available.
The business installs EV charging points from Tesla, Hypervolt, Anderson, Zappi, Pod Point and EO Charging. All chargers are fitted with surge protection to prevent vehicle damage from grid overload. The EV ultra cable contains a Cat 5e capable of monitoring home power usage and reducing power to the vehicle when required, preventing main fuse overload. A PEN fault is included if needed, depending on the earthing system and charger manufacturer.
For rewires, the business conducts electrical installation condition reports that inspect the property's electrical systems and categorise findings as C1 (danger exists, immediate action required), C2 (potential danger, urgent attention advised) or C3 (electrics pose safety, improvement recommended). Fuseboards are fitted with RCBOs so each circuit has its own RCD to prevent nuisance tripping, plus surge protection for all electrical items. A&J Power Services has been trading since 1998.
