About Cord Electrical
Cord Electrical is a family-run electrician business in Didcot run by Colin Byrne, his daughter Carlie and his son Chris. All three are fully qualified electricians and work on the tools. Colin and Carlie have worked together for fifteen years, and Chris has recently joined the family business. Carlie is available on request for customers who prefer a female electrician.
The business carries out rewires, partial rewires, consumer unit upgrades, extra sockets, lighting circuits, dimmer switches, USB points and outdoor power for homes across Oxfordshire. Kitchen and bathroom electrics include cooker points, extractor fans, downlights, shaver points and under-cabinet lighting to Part P standard. EV charger installation provides a dedicated charging circuit and mounting for home electric vehicle charge points. Fault finding and repairs cover tripping circuits, dead sockets and flickering lights, with most faults found and fixed in a single visit.
Cord Electrical also carries out Electrical Installation Condition Reports for homeowners and landlords, pre-purchase electrical inspections, portable appliance testing, and small business and commercial electrical installation and maintenance. The business covers Didcot, Harwell, Milton, Steventon and a 20-mile radius across Oxfordshire and the Berkshire borders, including Abingdon, Wallingford, Wantage, Oxford, Thame, Witney, Henley-on-Thames, Reading and Newbury.
Colin and Carlie hold NAPIT registration 10374, Part P certification and public liability insurance. Quotes and estimates are free. Work is tested and certified, and installation certificates are issued for notifiable work.
