About Duckworths Electrical
Duckworths Electrical is a family-run electrical business based in Burnley. It carries out domestic and commercial electrical work, including full and partial rewires, electrical inspections, portable appliance testing, periodic testing, fuse box rewiring and security lighting installation. Kitchen rewires are offered alongside other electrical services in kitchens.
The business covers Burnley and the surrounding areas. Work starts with a visit to measure and discuss the job, and free quotes are provided. Electrical inspections examine properties to ensure everything meets safety standards. Landlord inspections are carried out to verify that buildings are up to safety standard.
Duckworths Electrical was established in 1950 by John and Fred Duckworth, two friends who initially ran a shop selling and repairing domestic appliances, specialising in cooker repairs. John's wife Hilda joined the company to handle clerical work. After Fred's death, John and Hilda continued the business, and their son John joined in the early 1980s, influencing a move into electrical contracting. The shop relocated in the 1980s to larger premises, then closed in 1997 when John and Hilda retired. John Junior took over the contracting side, and Gavin, his son, joined in 2010 and took over the business that year. The business has over 70 years of experience in the trade. Duckworths Electrical is NICEIC approved.
