About Epec Electrical
Epec Electrical is an electrician business based in Plymouth, run by Darren Ware. The business carries out electrical testing, inspection and certification for domestic and commercial properties across Devon, Cornwall and the South West. Services include electrical installation condition reports, homebuyers reports, landlord certificates, electrical installation certificates, periodic inspections, minor works and PAT testing.
Epec Electrical works for letting agents, private landlords, holiday lets, holiday management companies, private homeowners and organisations. The business inspects fixed electrical installations to reveal overloaded circuits, potential shock and fire hazards, deficient earthing or bonding, and defective DIY electrical work. Certificates are issued electronically on completion of works. For landlords, the business can monitor inspection dates and notify when reports are due, in line with the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, which require inspections at least every five years.
Darren Ware established Epec in 2000 and originally served as an apprentice electrician over 30 years ago. He holds approved electrician status, a 2391 qualification for testing, inspection and certification, NIC/EIC approved contractor status, NIC/EIC domestic installer registration and Part P registered electrical safety registration. For the past 19 years Epec has provided testing, installation and certification to help customers comply with legislation and create safe working and living environments. Past clients include Exeter Cathedral, Powderham Castle and several estate agents across Exeter and the South West.
