About Lux Electrical Devon Ltd
Lux Electrical Devon Ltd is an electrician business in Barnstaple run by Leigh. It carries out domestic and commercial electrical work, including rewiring, consumer unit upgrades, extra sockets, lighting, outdoor power and smart heating systems such as Nest thermostats with hot water control. The business also fits smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and completes electrical fault finding and repairs.
Leigh worked for one of North Devon's largest electrical contractors for 17 years before setting up Lux Electrical Devon Ltd. He trained as an apprentice with a North Devon contractor and progressed to Contracts Manager and QS, training multiple apprentices during his employment. The business was named by his son Teddy when Leigh decided to go self-employed, and the fox logo was created by Teddy's mother Lauren.
The business covers Barnstaple and the surrounding area. Work begins with a visit to assess the job, and Leigh tests everything before leaving to ensure the customer is satisfied. Recent jobs include installing Nest heating controls in a two-zone environment with solar panel integration, changing batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and external light installations with cables hidden rather than surface-mounted.
